I am a legitimate rental owner. These guys are scam artists posting worldwide on Craiglist and other sites.

I just wanted to warn prospective victims. They have the 44 70 phone number and use the western union scam.

I read another thread on your site that said you shut down sites like this. I hope you do.

Hi Sportinglife, welcome to Scamwarners

I am glad to hear that you know the basic warning signs, with those tips alone you could avoid the vast majority of scams.

One of our site experts should be along shortly to investigate those sites, it is certainly not my area of expertise so I will leave it to them ;)

What will be helpful to them is the headers from any emails you received from those sites, if you could post the headers with your own details removed it will be a huge help.

If you are unsure of how to find teh headers, please let us know which email provider you use (yahoo/Hotmail/outlook/ect) then we should be able to give you specific instructions

I was wondering when the next site of this gang would pop up :D. The last month we killed 6 from this gang already, all being almost perfect clones. I don't think it will take long before they're offline. Thanks very much for reporting!

Hi vivspuffyandbates welcome to Scamwarners

Going by the language used in that email I would suggest that it is almost certain that is a scam email.

To be certain that it's a scam I did a search on this line from the email you posted;
"standing mirror,CD - DVD - Video ,Radio , TV , High-speed Internet with"
An exact search shows several other flats for rent with the exact wording to describe them, a sure sign of a scam.

Please do not reply to any more emails from them and if you have any questions please ask

vivspuffyandbates Your last two posts are scams ... I have seen those exact words many times before.

Kindly post the complete e-mails - with the scammer's e-mail address but not your own.

Alternately forward them to the address in my signature line.

The scammers will have wanted you to send them money for a deposit or to prove that you have genuine interest in the property. They would have asked you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union).

Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected.

You may find this BBC news report and video of interest.... it's shows how a similar Room for Rent scam works..

Welcome here DebzUK.
I'll move this post into the "Rental Scams" section shortly as it will help others who are browsing it.

Also of help would be the email address used by the scammer as someone else may "Google" it and see your message.
Could you please post it here.

Thanks. :)
