Most UK people don't know what escrow services are and they're never used in house purchases. For that reason estate agents, to my knowledge, never offer escrow services.

Technically it's possible but that alone doesn't make a scam idea successful. I can only presume that these sites will be used in scam accommodation rentals to non-UK citizens but the same problem applies to sell it as a scam with the added disadvantage of language issues.

It's technically possible but practically implausible. To be successful, a scam has to be credible.

Any targeted victim who checks will discover that any UK company offering escrow services needs to be registered and regulated by the FCA and HMCR which is easy to check. As such services are quite rare in the UK it won't be easy to masquerade as another company.

It's difficult not to consider that the people building these websites are producing them to sell to scammers who are easier to dupe than the average victim.

Comfort Estates (www.comfortestates.com )

I wanted to rent an apartment in México City. Since I found in a local webpage an apartment that I liked I decided to get in contact with the one who rented the apartment.
Her mail: [email protected]
We spoke for about 4 days about the apartment and she offered me a "Safe way" of making the transaction, since she was at the moment living in UK.
A company named: Comfort Estates.
I never heard about the company, but the webpage seemed to be a good reference to me. I tried to call the agency in order to ask for some information about their shipping method, but the number didn´t exist.

Fortunately I found this post and as I saw the similarities in both webpages, I was convinced this was a scam.
They even ask me to send money via Western Union and, the Company ([email protected]) even sent me information about the transaction.

Since she didn't answer me as I said I would be able to do the payment as I thought this was an scam, I supposed this is a scam.

I hope this information helps someone not to llose his/her time.
And if you need some evidence I would be glad to upload some documents they sent me.

Hello felo03,
Welcome to Scamwarners and thanks for posting this information. You are correct, this is a scam and legitimate rental companies do not request a payment via Western Union.

The website www.comfortestates.com is in the process of being reported for fraud.

I'm about to relocate to Guadalajara, Mexico and i saw this beautiful apartment and they were renting really, really cheap.

http://aviso.zonaprop.com.mx/departamen ... co-7367059

So i sent them an email and got the same story from this lady Sylvia Porter [email protected], saying that they had bought the apartment for her daughter and they no longer need it, and then told me she was in UK but she found a way where we can make the payment arraignment, so she sends me the link of this "company" site.

http://www.union-realestates.com/

So everything starting from the price and her email address and her template-like emails was pointing me out it was a scam. Its real sad because there are many people that thinking they are for a bargain, don't think things twice.

I will see how can i report the add and the site.

Good day!
