Hi there, my name is Marty, i've been talking to this girl from Ghana for the past 3 months now. It started from a dating site. At first she sent me photos of herself and i thought this is too good to be true but then she wanted to video chat and she turned out to be the same person in reality as the one in the photos. Now i have sent her a total of approx. $3000 (i know i'm an idiot) to get her to Australia. I have received emails from her travel agent who has a legit web page. And i also received details of a legit airline ticket with confirmation details that checked out. But now she says she was held up at immigration (still in Ghana) saying that she had no travelling money and now needs a further $5000 before she is let out of the country and emailed me a document from her government stating this. Have i been scammed?

She goes by the name of Naomi Adaaye, lives at 2 NII Quartey Street, Accra, Ghana. She is 28 years old. She works as a hair dresser. The travel agent she used is named Jeffery Tetteh from Smooth Way Travel http://smoothwaytravel.com/

First of all, the website is a fake:
registered only a month ago, minimum one year registration. Looks like the scammers have another faker too, created a week later: greenhilltravelandtour.com.

Could you please post the email address this scammer sent you, as well as the first few emails received from "her" and the travel agency? Posting the photos being used would help too-there are instructions in my signature line for photo posting.

Please be aware that it is quite likely you were never in contact with the person in the photos. African romance scammers playing females often use stolen photos of porn actresses, then use video of the same actresses to fake webcam.

The website http://smoothwaytravel.com/about.html was registered only a month ago and the text was copied from the legitimate site found here http://www.landtours.com/welcome.asp

It is a fake compamy and everything else the scammer told you is a lie in order to steal your money. Do you have any emails from this company? If so please post them along with the headers. If your not sure how to get headers you can go here http://www.ip-adress.com/faq/view_email_header/ I would like to get the fake site shut down.

I have been taken for $1830.00 from this women - She said that she was a Nurse doing her degree in Ghana and even forwarded her certificate from the proposed school - She said that she didn't have enough money to get back home because her father abaondoned her - she said she needed $700 to help pay for her airline ticket - then she said she needed another $1000 - She also says that she loves you and will do anything to please you - she sends you pictures of herself and says she is legit because you can see her on cam - she lies about everything she does - First I sent her some small money then another $1550.00 so she could buy a ticket back to Australia - then she said she needed extra funds to complete her course and asked me for another $475 - I started to question her about all this and she couldn't justify her reasons - she kept on making excuses and new reasons - She plays on your heartand your emotional weakness telling you that she has been hurt before and that she loves you and that if you leave her she will kill herself - she told me she lived on campus and that she was lonely and wanted to get out of Ghana. This girl is a professional con artist - Please if you see her pictures or name - run away as fast as you can

Would you please post the email address that the scammer was using and also please post an email or two that she sent, including the headers. We may be able to see the city where the messages were sent from.

I have removed your email address for the reason stated in the post. No need to paint a big target for scammers (and spammers.) We have a private messaging system here, and you can exchange information that way without it being picked up by bots or scammers/spammers.

Your belief that there are multiple scammers using Josie Ann Miller is absolutely correct. Josie Ann Miller and Raven Riley are probably the two most commonly used porn models, and there are dozens, if not hundreds, of scammers using their photos and video. In fact, there are several topics here that include at least a dozen different profiles using her information.

Some scammers work alone, and others work in gangs. When you are dealing with a scamming gang, you may actually be dealing with multiple people throughout the scam. The scammers are most often young men, many times college students.

If you haven't done so already, you need to cut off all contact with the scammer(s) now. Staying in communication is not going to get them caught, and can only lead to more harm to you. Also be very alert as you will be targeted again, and be on the lookout for recovery scammers.
