This person claims to be named Curtis Ward from Monterrey CA. He then says he is no longer in Monterrey and now has to go to be with his sick mum in the UK. Later (weeks), asks to have some checks cashed. Checks are fedexed. Checks are Counterfeit. Asks to have you western union the funds from the checks. Checks were sent from Oakland CA. He called and sounded African with a blocked CallerID.

I did not fall for the scam, I played along and checked for the validity of the checks he sent me. I still see him online on yahoo IM with that name (I block my presence to him). I reported him to the two gay sites I saw him on: silverdaddies.com and daddyhunt.com; and his profiles have been removed.

Of course, like all the others, he claims to want a long term relationship and all sorts of similar blither. He starts to call you endearing names like "honey" "dear" "sweetheart" etc.

It is comical because his (black & white) profile pics show him smoking a cigarette, but his profile says he has never smoked. I knew he was a scammer when (in IM) he couldn't accurately describe the area he claimed to be from in Monterrey (as I know the area). His English is hardly up to UK or US standards, even for a young lad. I saved copies of his pics, but this site doesn't seem to provde for uploading - only to reference a URL with a pic. This guy doesn't use a "standard" series of letters as do many other scammers. He gains people's trust on IM and by phone (he thinks) and then says how difficult things are for him and his sick mum in the UK. He says he grew up in New Jersey. But when he called me up, I knew he was a scammer as he neither has a UK nor a NJ accent. It is more like Nigerian.
