Romance scammer Maxwell Bans?

Hi, I'm just discovered this site at the right time, I may say. I met someone via internet Colonel Maxwell Bans and he told me he is serving in Afghanistan, Marjah. He always borrowd someone's laptop so he asked me if I could buy one for him. I just met hem not even a month. I bought the laptop but now he is saying I should contact someone who is now in Ghana?? So thats sound odd to me. (Please don't mind my English, I'm not from the US or GB). So many things I read here, make me wonder, if he really is who he says he is.

In the first email he asked if I had Yahoo, but I told him no. So shortly after we skype (on daily base). He also has a son and his wife died years ago.

Even though I bought the laptop, there is still no problem. It's not a wast of money. I just would feel really betrayeld if he is indeed a scammer. But so far, I have't send anything to hem yet.

Does anyone knows or heard from the name Maxwell Bans, from the US? Does he excists or am I mailing with a scammer?

Colonels don't spend time on dating sites and they don't need to ask people to buy the laptops. They are very senior officers in the US military. The person he wants you to contact in Ghana is really himself and is undoubtedly where he really is located.

Next he will think of a reason why you must pay money to Ghana for him. The more you pay - the more he will ask you to pay. His only interest is in money and he isn't even American, let alone in the US army.

As Terrance said, you are communicating with a scammer. The scammer wants the laptop shipped to Ghana because that is where he is at. He needs the laptop so he can scam women at home and not have to use an Internet Cafe.

Everything he told you is a lie. If you confront him with the truth he will still lie. His only goal is to use you for money and gifts. In the near future you will get the money request for leave, phone, medical emergencies, gift for his child and etc. He will want you to send money via Western Union or Money Gram. He may even ask you to be a money mule (launder) for him. He will ask you to accept money from other victims through your bank account or pick up Western Union/Money Gram payments. The later could get you trouble with the Police.

What ever pictures he sent you were stolen off the internet. Skype video can be faked.

Military Soldiers do not have time to chat, skype and email strangers. They do not look for love on the internet while deployed.

The military provides a soldier with everything they need including internet access, computers, phones and medical treatment for their families.

Please stop communicating with him and post his email address to help other women. A few of his emails would also be helpful.

After further research I was able to find more information on this scammer.

He claims to be from Coleville, California. His assumed name is Maxwell Bans. He pretends to be with the Anti-Army Team located in Marjah Afghanistan.

His friends name is Collins Wiafe at +233245173460 ( 233245173460 ).

I repeat there is no US Soldier in Afghanistan needing anything from a stranger or internet girlfriend. It is a scam. The phone number is a number in Ghana, Africa. He is not with any Anti-Army Team anywhere in the world assigned to the US.

To give you an update, we 'Maxwell' and I are now on skype and I just asked him for his military email adress. He says he cannot give for protection reasons. I really feel sorry, that I don't have contact with that nice quiet looking man on the pictures, but I am really sure he's a scammer now! He couldn't wait to ask if I heard from the officer (read laptop ) But I didn't even respond to that. This thing with this scammer will soon be over.

This guy is also wellknow here under name general David Miller, Calvin Miller, Stg Trudi. On Badoo he has many profiles. Johnson 53, Florida. Owen Omoghan 49 Miami. Michael 49 New Yourk. Mackay 53 Australien. I have found him everywhere and I have also reported him to Badoo so the most of his profile is now deleted.

He seems to have a lot of names. Still don't know of the man on the picture is the real scammer, but there really a lot of his pictures flowing around the www involving scamming and fraud.
