I put an add on craigslist to sell my couch and this is one of the emails I received from a James Morgan. I am 100% sure this is a scam:

"Thanks for your mail. I am an English man coming to Germany on a missionary mission and will need some furniture in my new home. Now that the couch is € 250. I will like you to kindly call me on my mobile 00 44 70 2403 0764 or you give me your mobile and I will call you.
You sounds honest and responsible and I think I can trust you with my money. Please give me a name and address to send the funds of the couch to you including your mobile number.

Thanks.
James."

I also received an email from a Ben Waldrip, whose email I searched on Facebook ([email protected]) and found another man with it: Israel Chukwuka Okwuchukwu.
Unfortunately I deleted his email a while ago but it was in the storyline of: I am an English man who is going to move to Germany, but I'm not there yet, so I will send you the amount of 2500 euros, of which you can subtract the amount for the couch and give the rest of the money to the moving company who will come to pick up the couch from your house, and for security reasons he wanted my name, address, ID nr, phone nr etc.

You are 100% correct. He is using a 070 redirect number which means he probably isn't in the UK he just has a UK number that redirects to his phone wherever he is in the world; West Africa is a likely location. His standard of English is also poor which would suggest it probably isn't his 1st language.

As Con Warner said post up his Email with headers if you can. A quick look at where the Email comes from will probably further confirm what we know already and help anyone else who has Googled his name wondering if they are dealing with a scammer.
