After receiving a PM from a member, which assured me that this website was legitimate and that the company had been in existence for 12 years and that his "friend" had visited their premises, I decided to do a bit of investigation. Here are some facts.

MR Construction claim to have "12 years of successful business" yet their .co.uk website is only registered in May 2011 and there is no independent web coverage about them. The details used for registering the site also do not tie up with the company - registered using a non existent Ltd company name and an address in London whereas the company claim to be in Northern Ireland.

Looking at the contact details on the website, there is also no listing with directory enquiries for MR Construction in Omagh. Also, the phone number on the website is a London number - which when rung isn't answered. The fax number is an Omagh number, but when rung has a pre-recorded message saying it isn't in use. Also, the address given appears to be a house http://lpsni.gov.uk/vListDCV/propertyde ... 3141&rn=40, hardly the type of property to store a load of diggers and excavators. Although the address does appear to be the base of a firm of builders called Moffitt & Robinson Construction http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/ref.ph ... d-BT78-1SU.

Then there is the emails that this company sends, they have a footer that claims to be from

M&R Construction (UK) Ltd, 40 Blacksessiagh Road, Omagh,
BT78 1SU

A check on Companies House shows the company by that name was dissolved in May 2011 and was based in Tyne & Wear not Northern Ireland.

So, if you are looking to buy construction or agricultural equipment and think the prices offered on http://www.mr-constructions.co.uk are too good to be true then they are - you will not get the item that you purchase and will probably be told to pay by money transfer or to a bank account that has no connection with the name/location of this "company".

Further investigation of this "company" has provided the following further evidence that they are a scam.

An invoice received from them



has the Company Reg No. NI063888 and the VAT No GB844002170 on it. These details belong to a building firm by the name of Moffatt and Robinson Construction Ltd - a firm who are involved in the building of houses - not the supply of machinery.

The invoice claims to be from a company by the name of MR Constructions Ltd - this company does not exist.

The bank account details in the invoice belong to an account that is operated from a branch of Barclays bank in Leicestershire, not Omagh, Northern Ireland.

Analysis of the emails being sent from the mr-constructions.co.uk domain show that they are actually sent from [email protected] the name attached to that email address in Google+ is Chiriac Aioanei.

Exactly the same content and layout as MR Constructions but with the odd "brand" change.
