I use Gumtree to sell items from my house, i recently recieved a text from a mobile starting with +447795 when i replyed to it it cost me £1.50 each time, i knew the message didnt read properly but thought id have a bit off fun and piss the scammer off, is this a new thing out and how is it possible to have a uk mobile number that costs this much?

+44 is a UK redirect number that can be answered any where in the world. The person is not in the UK.

Hello albionni. This is also a different scam type. You are given a premium rate number to call back to. The scammer hasn't any other interest in anything else but getting many people to phone back, that is how he gets his dosh. He probably has no interest in money transfers, emails and such, but only in getting you to call back. He only has to do that a few hundred times a day and he is on a tidy sum. Most people may not even notice the con.
