So... We have just discovered my mother has lost £1100 to this scam. Thought she was getting a steal on some TV's and well yeah....
We have contacted her bank but they have said they can not do anything for at least another 13 days then they can "attempt" a recovery.
In the meantime is there anything else we can or should do or any advice anybody could offer?

Remember that when you shop online NEVER pay for merchandise using Bank Transfer or Western Union .

Always use Visa / MasterCard or other credit cards . Transactions can easily be reversed with these payment methods .

When shopping outside the realm of known stores be aware that just because there is a website does not mean its a legitimate business . There are hundreds if not thousands of FAKE STORES on the internet . The fake stores all share one common trait . They feature merchandise at " to good to be true" prices , and will require payment via Bank Transfer , Western Union or other untraceable method .


In my opinion. There is no reason that any legitimate Internet Merchant would ever require payment using Bank Transfer, Western Union, Money Gram or other untraceable method .
