Hi Beenhad,
there are so many photos on the internet - newspapers' websites, facebook, official sites of the US government ... or they do a Google image search "Soldier" and can take their pick.
For instance, if I fancy a picture from the internet, I just drag it over to my deskop.
Please don't be surprised if your scammer keeps emailing you, they can be pretty persistent. He may even try to contact you with a different email address and try to get you from a different angle. And so close to Christmas they are getting desperate.
One more thing: Don't tell him how you found out, we don't want him to improve his technique.
And now I'll have a look at the dating site - thanks for your info!
Love
Katharina

Hi Beenhad,

sorry I have no idea how your social messenger works, so I can't figure out how he got through the block. Notice his appalling English as soon as he is leaving his script.

As soon as he is convinced that there is no cash coming to him, he may pass on your email address to a member of his gang who will contact you with another type of scam - some "easy money" scheme which requires an advanced fee, or a "job" you can do at home. But by now you are too clever to fall for that.

If you feel it is becoming harrassing, unfortunately you will have to change your email address.

(Don't despair finding the right partner, eventually you will.)

I hope you can enjoy your weekend.

Hi Katharina,
Thank you for your kind words and the advise I will be ready for whoever wants to try this scam on me again. :laugh-s: I have been speaking to someone in the administration side of the US army and have mailed them asking if they can track down the unsuspecting hunk with the limited information I have to make him aware of the situation. Hopefully they will...will keep you updated.
You have a good weekend too.

Hallo pethouse,
typischerweise spricht der Lump von "your country" statt von Deutschland - er hat mehrere Opfer am Wickel und will die Länder nicht durcheinanderbringen.

Hallo pethouse,
typically, the scoundrel talks about "your country" instead of Germany - he has several victims going and doesn't want to mix up countries.

Ja das stimmt, ist ja echt der Hammer wie raffiniert die sind, aber er war irgendwie schon komisch von anfang an. Aber da ich ja von natur aus neugierig bin, konnte ich die nachforschungen nicht sein lassen. :P

Yes that's true,'s really the hammer as the refined, but he was somehow strange from the start. But since I'm curious by nature, I could not let the investigation. :P

If he claims to be in the US military, and he says that anyone outside the military can pay for his leave, then he is lying. He is a scammer.

Please post the email he sent, with full headers. There's a domain associated with this fake Army leave scam that I'm trying to kill. If he's using any websites or domains that he paid for in the scam, we want them dead.
