And how to tell my mum? For me this is undeniable evidence but I am so scared that she will make
up some sort of crazy messed up explanation.

I am gonna tell her tomorrow in person, and see how she gonna take it. It will hopefully wake her up!

Honestly, I have been very worried about this situation, Levni. I do hope it will end well.
As for the next steps:
It won't help the real Bill if he knows that his photos are being used by a scammer. The photos are saved in the scammer's kit and Bill can't delete them. But please tell all your friends to be careful with their profiles on social sites: To be viewed by personally known friends only!

Levni, your mother might be in a state of mind in which she can't accept advice from you. Perhaps you should talk this over via PM with one of our experienced members here. They should know the best way to convey this bad news. Don't rush it now.

I can't get over the fact that people I have never met in person are helping me in such a great way!

Hi Levni! I have worked today but the thoughts were of you and your mom. Levni I want to know, have you been able to locate the fraudster is? I was in to My space and looked at Bill's side and discovers that he has one friend on My space and the same friend who Jenn was on his my space page. A guy named Tom Anderson. I've put on tracking messages that I sent to Jenn and Henry and I got up to the mail is opened in Malaysia. Then I want to know if your Mom has been in telephone contact with him Bill or is it just to chat. Hugs from Anki

I think that I and your mother has been exposed to the same scammer, but with different photos and different email addresses. I think Bubbles was thinking the same thing and I think that is true. Levni then it's not just us who have been abused as been affected, so are the rest of our families. I have four children and a grandchild, but above all it's children who have been unwell. Then it feels so good when there are cases that seem to solve themselves. I have never met you but I say to you that I said to many others. I never thought I would get so much support I have received through scamwarners and then all the friends who have come to, not forgetting. Hugs to my friend

Hi Anki, yes it is more than a coincidence that the one friend both of them have is this guy Tom Anderson......

My mum has been having telephone contact with Bill, and it is a number from Ghana.

You know I have been over the conversation I will have with her tomorrow a thousand times in my mind. And I am pretty sure she is gonna say the following, she is gonna say that the Bill we found is using the pics of her Bill and that in fact it is "our" Bill that is a scam.

That is why I was wondering if the real Bill would be contacted......
I know what you are thinking.............how much evidence do you want!!!!!!!

But if she says that, what are the key points I can bring up?

Levni You are correct. She will not like to see that she has been betrayed. She will say that you believe, it is her Bill which has been their identity and their photos stolen. But Levni not give up. Do you have Bill's phone number? I have two different numbers from Jenn and would like to know if it's the same. Hugs and as I said do not give up.

Hey guys,

Looks like you are straying down a wrong path here. Tom Anderson represents myspace (offhand I don't remember if he is the founder or just part of management). Tom is automatically added as a friend to all new myspace members (I don't know if he still is, but for years that was the case). It's just a myspace thing and does not in any way make a connection between the two. I have a myspace account myself, and Tom is a friend on it too.

Levni, you need to be very careful with the evidence you provide to your mother. She wants to believe in her scammer, and if you give her "evidence" that the scammer can prove is wrong (and it's not hard to prove the Tom Anderson thing, every member gets a message explaining who he is and why he was added), it will do more harm than good. If he can prove you were wrong on that, it will give her a reason to believe that he is always right and you are always wrong because you were wrong on one thing.

There is most likely no connection between the two scammers, other than that they are both from Western Africa. I have no doubt that Levni's mom's scammer is really in Ghana--when scammers lie about their location, it is generally to pretend they are not in Africa at all. When they tell you they are in Nigeria or Ghana, you will find that they really are there--they are admitting to their true location so that they don't have to go to the trouble to hide it. Their tactics are similar because they are the tactics all romance scammers use.

There are pictures of him in Hawaii. She could ask if and when he has been to Hawaii. The photos look fairly recent. They can be found here: http://profiles.friendster.com/56620115#moreabout. I have, also, located what I believe is the address and phone number to the real person. He lives in Portland, OR and he is married. Maybe he would be willing to share the original photographs along with the rest in the series with your mother. I bet the scammer cannot produce enough photos or a story to back up the lack of photos to get out of that situation. I don't know about Ghana, but here in America, generals don't do bodyguard work.
