I was messages by someone claiming to be 20 and was way to friendly but ended up sending me pictures and I figured it was fake so I downloaded a naked picture of someone on google that was naked and said it was me. I was then contacted by someone from Watertown saying their daughter was 15 and that they sent her to love with an aunt and that they contacted the police in Watertown. I did get a sketchy call however from someone claiming to be the police saying I should contact the father of the girl and settle it with him before they turned over the phone with the messages. I did talk to the father and he demanded 900$ for a computer the daughter broke somehow. I agreed to pay to stall and said I could have it in a couple weeks. Should I pay or should I go talk to a police officer I know about this situation. She did send me pictures of her and I did vaguely ask but she sent more without me asking. What should I do I need help I've never been in trouble before for anything and I'm scared that I should pay them but I don't have 900$

Welcome to Scamwarners,

It is a scam. Ignore the fake father and fake police officer. Do not answer unknown calls or reply to any message.

Follow the directions on page 1 the firs post.

Post a link to the fake profile on POF.

Also post all names used and phone numbers used.

The number the police officer called from is a legit police number though and the profile was lisa8157
Father- (917)652-9000
Police (315) 782-2233
The so called girl used a Texting app I stupidly earased the number because I was scared

The scammer is spoofing the police number.

A real police officer would not tell you to work it out with the father and pay money by untraceable methods.

Do not pay the blackmail.

So in this situation the police wouldn't tell me to call the father and work it out and that they came to visit him today and are turning in the phone unless I talk to them. I know you think it's a scam but how can I be 100% sure that it's not real

I've been reading this for the whole day and has helped me think that my situation is a scam to. I had a POF account and this girl who was 19 stated on the site. Say hi we chatted for like two messages and she gave me her number so we texted. Then she got kinda dirty and sent a nude pic then I did the same THEN she said shes 16 turning 17 two text later. She called me alot I didn't answered except for the first time BEFORE she told me her age. So this morning I gor a long text from the dad saying all this and to contact him. I did because i didn't read this site before or research anything. He talked to his wife and she said that it's fine they wouldn't press charges but the daughter is searching up classes to take. So he comes back with the $1,000 dollar amount and i can't pay it so he said $250 a week till paid off. So i hung up the phone. He texted and called 3 times then left a voice mail saying he will out this device into the authorities have a nice day. I have all the text and numbers. But I got a random call from the device that was suppose to be off and is was a minute long voice mail you can here people laughing an yelling then you hear a guy talk about "I got this good weed ha-ha" but the man that I talked to was one of the guys yelling in the back. Should i be concerned about this? Here are the number. Thank you ive been stressing all day an never intended for this.

Women - (803) 968-3630
Man - (843) 603-4759

The women device was suppose to be turned over but I got a random voicemail an hour later after number was changed and there numbers blocked. They are from SC to. Thats what makes me think this is a scam had anyone have anything happen to them? I haven't paid anything to them.

Read the first post and follow the advice there - it's exactly the same scam as described numerous times on the preceding 28 pages.

That is an excellent point . By participating on the site they have already sworn to be over 18 .

hello I was contacted by 18 yo I thought and we interacted on a site that said he was 18, he asked for my cell and started texting me, then we exchanged photos, he provided some that were nude, yes stupid me replied back. after testing a bit he said he was 17. I stopped texting him and deleted the text and now I had a call from his father saying he was going to report me. I've looked up the numbers from both the son and father and did not find anything on them and now father is asking me for money to avoid him from having to go to police. The numbers are both from south Carolina 8032109961, original and new one is 8038002983. Is this a scam? Currently I've blocked out both numbers and saw your site so thought it was very insightful and wanted to reach out to you with my questions.
