I am assuming you are posting this here because he has been in contact you and has told you he is a soldier.

Scammers change email addresses all the time. Some use the same email address with multiple victims, but some use different email addresses with different victims. The best way for us to help you is if you post the first couple of messages he sent you.

Note that if he has asked you to apply for leave, apply for or send him a phone, or fill out beneficiary forms or other military forms--then it is already certain that you are dealing with a scammer, because all of these policies/processes are the invention of scammer, and are NOT how the military really works.

Hi,

I got chatting to someone on Badoo who said he was in the US Army. Being in Australia, I have absolutely no idea on the US Army and took him at his word. It was only as I started looking into the US Army and what to do about dating someone in the US Army, did I discover about these scammers.

The guy I was chatting to was called Samuel Koning, and said he was in Afghanistan but got moved to Libya on special mission. He claimed he'd got divorced last year, and this was his first foray into the dating game.

He said he was a sargeant, had been in the army for 8yrs, was originally from the Netherlands (although he kept calling it Dutch) and had been living in New York since he was 5. His father had left his mother soon after they moved to the US, and they no longer kept in touch. He also said that his mother had passed away last year.

It was only when I started asking about his training, and where he'd done it, how long it had taken that I decided that he wasn't really in the US army, and was potentially a scammer.

The email address he used was: [email protected]

I've not had any contact with him since Christmas day, and have not heard anything back from him either.

I'd love to know if he is actually a scammer. (and also how to post photos on here to see if anyone else recognises him!)

Just the fact that he says he has gone to Libya tells us he is a scammer. If he was on a "special mission" he would not be telling strangers on the Internet, and isn't it odd that while doing all this stuff he can even get onto the Internet and hunt women.

I was chating with this same guy too Samuel Koning and i have been chatting with him since October. Hes been telling me the same story about this parents and how hes now in Africa and how he need money to come to see me and how he wants to marry me. I havent heard from him in about 5 days now. He claims that his computer got hacked and there is no way of me contacting him. The email address he used for me is [email protected] and [email protected]. i have pics too and i dont know how to upload them either. This man have emotional ruin me. He seem so perfect and so wonderful in every way possible..i guess that how all scammers seem. He was perfect in everything he said and he was right ontop of his words too. Everything was so perfect..way too good to be true. I also met him on the same website as the gilr below quoted Badoo, I would love to talk to Krishky to find out what her chatting was about too..i would love to share my story with her as well.

I am not sure what else to do or say..I have never experience anything like this before..its all so strange

Sorry to hear that he has emotionally affected you. Scammers typically paste and copy poems and romantic stuff from the internet. Nothing he wrote to you was from his own writing. Once they feel as if they can control you is when the money request begin.

It happened the same thing with me with David Koning... i was on Badoo and he sent me a message at the beginning of May... he sent me lots of pictures. He used email address : [email protected]

He proposed me a good life, a new life with him. 37 years old single man living in New York, divorced with no kids... His mom passed away in 2008 and he never talk again to his father... he told me that he wanted to quit army to settle down with a woman, have a house and kids...

I fell in love with him and sent him money to come back to USA... i lost a huge amount of money...

Girls, if you are like me, i would like to find the guy on the pictures to tell him that somebody is using them...

About a week ago, I received a friend request on Facebook from Sgt. Charles Mike. I checked out his FB profile and noticed that we had a couple of mutual friends (or so I thought). I went through his FB photos and all of them are Army photos with other soldiers. His profile stated that he's from Baltimore, MD and currently lives in Kabul, Afghanistan for the last 8 years. He told me that his parents died in a car crash, and that his wife and unborn child passed away a couple of years ago - his status states that he's a Widower. He sent me a message through FB Messenger and struck up a daily "Hi, how are you" message. I thought it was harmless to answer back until he asked me if I was involved with someone . . . I told him I was. He told me that he really wanted a relationship with me and wanted to leave the army. He also told me that he needed a reason to leave - he can just leave and needed a place to go. I was at my boyfriends house this past week and he messaged me. When I didn't respond (because he was starting to really creep me out), he then said "Wow, what's with the silent treatment?" I didn't respond to that either. The next day, the messages from Thursday and Friday were deleted and marked as "Spam, or Abusive Content To Recipient" (I guess that meant me) - all the other messages to me were still there. He had also befriended two of my friends on Facebook and was asking them very similar questions and wanted them to let him stay with them (each request was made individually and privately). Just glad I had the sense to not pursue his "flattery".

Facebook realized he was a scammer and removed the profile.

He may already have one or more fb pages. So he will be back with the same name or a new name.

You still need to warn your friends to be on the look out for future scammers.

These guys are hilarious!! The lengths they are going to!! I had my first Facebook encounter yesterday, could tell straight away, I'm Australian but I know that American men don't talk like that or should I say message like that!! They almost sound pathetic!!

Don't let them play on our emotions, Us Woman have a sixth sense!! Let's use it more, when you get that funny feeling in your stomach, listen to it!! It's our intuitions telling us. I can't seem to post the pic but the guys name on Facebook is Paul Bandow. Beware!! Xx

I have had a person messaging me via yahoo messenger and I know hes a scammer.
He just asked me to send his commanding officer $1000.00 to have him come home early.
