Another 'Mr Neale' scam!

My family and I were scammed by a 'me Neale' but was known as Joe Burgess with the email address NAZ123. We paid for a land rover discovery, which obviously now it's all happened its all came to life how stupid and thick we were to believe this load of rubbish! Everything jus seemed so real! Please I'd anyone else is in the same situation please reply I couldn't sleep all night thinking about how stupid we are!!!! How can we let someone do this to us!!!

Lucie you aren't stupid and thick. Like hundreds before, and later on, you are sucked into a scam run by people who know what they are doing and have a method that works. Could you clarify the email address and perhaps add emails too. It might help the next batch of victims who will arrive to deal with the next fake advert.

i have been scammed, different person, but again its barcalys bank, its about time we took out a full page add in a national newspaper, i fuckin hate them i lost a lot of money, feel so stupid

I nearly commented earlier but, in my opinion, when different accounts are being used in the same name at the same bank on a regular basis, the situation points to organised fraud by one individual, and I cannot see any justification for the police not taking action. Actually, I feel more strongly than that, but I am well used to trying to act against the inertia of bureaucracy.

The first thing is to report it as a crime and obtain a crime number. In this way every time the scammer performs another scam, it affects the crime figures. Also, if you share your crime numbers with other victims, then you can ask the police to record those other crime figures in the report. Such information will be embarrassing and will make it impossible for any excuses about being unaware of the other evidence.

Also refer the issue to your MP as has been done by others, mentioning other MP's who have been contacted with as clear a report of the situation and how you were scammed with details and, of course, the reaction of the bank and the police.

Make a formal complaint to your local police commissioner. That's what they're there for, and suggest in the politest way that you'll be interested to discover if he is effective in his new role. Politeness with a sharp edge works best.

Probably, we could make a collective letter to the bank, saying that when they do not return money, we would go to the mass media, newspapers, magazines, - they love all these scandals. I have collected i huge history about numerous scamers and fraudulents by Barclays bank account owners. Moreover, i have no idea who is working in the hole, as i got the following official! answer from it: PLEASE BE ADVISED WE CONFIRM CREDITING THE FINAL BENEFICIARY FOR AMT 735, 45 GBP UNDER REF PET897169335 DD 301112. HOWEVER WE ARE UNABLE TO CONTACT THEM AS THEIR ACCOUNT IS CLOSED. HENCE WE SUGGEST YOURSELVES TO INFORM THE REMITTER TO DEAL DIRECT WITH BENEFICIARY.
With grammar mistakes!from English bank! I am sure that possibility that mass media gets the lists of instant criminal cases behind the bank´s doors, it would try to perform something!

Did this reply some from the bank's Fraud Department ?

Tell them that you want to receive a reference from the bank's fraud department as you will be notifying the Austrian police who will be contacting the UK police, and you want them to be able to link your complaint direct to the bank.

If you do not receive a suitable reply promptly advise them that you will report that the UK bank refused to co-operate.

Then report it to the Austrian police/fraud authorities and make sure that they issue you with a crime number.

Do not make the threats about newspapers and conspiracies. I know you're angry, and I understand why, but doing as I recommend is the best way to make a difference. I doubt that you will get your money back, but it seems that people are abusing bank accounts for fraudulent purposes in the UK much too easily, and this must not, and should not happen.

Yes, this pity reply is that one my bank got Officially! from Barclays bank!

I took a police confirmation and i am going to send it to Barclays bank fraud department. I called they and they told they had arrested the other account of these fraudsters and when my police would have sent the confirmation probably i would get my money back. Do you think i am doing all correctly?

Banks do not send such illegible trash. I think I have a better than average comprehension and banks send imformation approved for clarity.

I would really like to see an IP number and if real, see who sent this pure BALONEY. It didn't come from a bank. How did you get this mail? In the post from someone you gave your address to or via email. I seem pretty darn sure it's a fake. It really says --Go and talk to your scammer. CRAP.

This answer was given me by my bank - ERSTE SPARKASSE - a very serious bank in Austria, which OFFICIALLY got it from Barclays bank as a reply for back money transfer!

I understand "KatieAustria".

The problem is that banks would prefer not to get involved when their customer are involved in fraud. Personally, my view is that this attitude is improper and you have to be persistent and persuasive. It's still unlikely that you'll get your money back but banks should understand that allowing, or being tricked in to, running accounts used in fraud, is not in their interests.
