Got it in one - or is that 419?

I've killed the animation now, as it's annoying me.

Hello, another from Eater, and the UK
My greatest wish is that we never have to help anyone because the word gets out and people know not to fall for these scams, sadly, I think we'll all be very busy.

Could we have a bit which gives us the low down on the main differences between this and the Eater style sites, what you want of us here, and what is better served over there?

Thanks

Thanks, Agi. :D

Welcome to all the new people, and thanks for signing up. :)

Inspector, that's a really interesting question, especially given the current debate about avatars and the like at Eater at the moment. :) Eater has room for a lot of fun stuff, and I think that the main difference here is that we are going to be much more focused on people who have been, or are in danger of being, scammed. The main aim, in my view, has to be towards reassuring them that we are experts in our chosen field, and can offer them sensible and mature advice. Any flippancy and fun, and the avatars people choose, will be within that context, although I firmly believe that there is still room for the frivolity and humour that makes any community bond. Here, it has to be done in such a way that maintains the respect for the circumstances that have brought people here. I'm confident, though, that the people we have here will be able to strike the right note without too much trouble. :)
