Fake plant sales website - european-plant-sales.com
.

From the Website:
GLYN L & S LIMITED

Wern Bach
Abergele

United Kingdom
Email: [email protected]
Tel: +44 151 528 2890

Claim to have been around for nearly 30 years, but the website was only registered a week ago, using a Russian registrar, nameservers and privacy protection service.

Telephone numbers have a Liverpool area code, but they claim to be in North Wales

There is no such company as "Glyn L & S Limited" registered with Companies House

I have communicated by both e-mail and by phone with their Sales Manager, Frank Eriksen. I was surprised by his accent as it appeared to be a Eastern European accent. Sorry but Frank Eriksen is not a Eastern European name.

My fears about this have been confirmed on what I found afterwards on this website - http://www.scam.directory/fake-websites ... -s-limited

On that website it says the domain name http://www.european-plant-sales.com is registered in Moscow, Russia. They say they have been in business for 30 years BUT the website domain was created on the 24th November 2015.

I found 'Frank' to be very abrupt on the phone and in e-mails by saying / writing things like and I copy and paste "This is how we work and how we satisfied clients over the past 30 years, we are a very well known company in the United Kingdom and Europe as well,if you are not satisfied with our terms we can sell it to someone else, we have plenty inquiries for it." (Notice the spelling mistake for inquiries, should be enquiries)

In their contract sent they say they are UK based but state they want payment made to their bank account in Slovenia and gave :-

Account Name: GLYN L & S LTD
Bank Name: NLB d.d.
Bank Address: Trg republike 2, 1520 Ljubljana, Slovenia
Bank IBAN: SI56021501367418984
Bank Swift Code: LJBASI2X

Account noted MW
According to Google the IP Address (195.3.144.117) for their website is in Latvia and Google has not even cached their website yet, because it is so new. So 30 Years in business with this website?? NOT. Google does not lie.

Not sure if this is relevant or not but the model of the used machine they tried to sell me cannot be found anywhere else in Europe for sale. It is only available in the USA. A bit suspicious!

GLYN L & S LIMITED has a long history of almost 30 years within the industry of Agricultural and Plant machinery. We are a family run business based in England, …….
No you're not - you're based in Wales. :laugh-s:

It's always fun with foreign scammers watching them trip over geographic cultural sensitivities. I recommend that they steer well clear of Ireland.

Hi

I work for BTE Plant Sales, based in Leicester. We've recently found out that a website is using our details to sell fake machines - www.european-plant-sales.com. I can see that these people have appeared in a few different topics on this site.

Can anyone advise me on how to tackle this situation? We are being contacted daily by people who have realised that something isn't right and researched our company before sending money, but there must be people who have just paid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

You can try reporting to the fake site's domain registrar and get the domain suspended, but that's a short-term solution. They'll just set up shot somewhere else with a new domain. Their domain is registered through paknic http://support.paknic.com/Main/

You can refer the fake site's victims to either Action Fraud (UK) http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud or IC3 if they're in the US http://ic3.gov/

Thanks Tim, I've contacted Paknic to see if they disable the domain.

It looks like it's targeting people in Eastern Europe mainly, we've been having calls from Slovenia and Estonia along with Belgium. Action Fraud are looking at it but according to another company these people have targeted there isn't much they can/will do as it's an international issue.

Thank you very much for your advice.
