About myself... I am 29 year old male, I work in the City Center. I used to run my own business, but currently I am closing it down, I have just come back from 6 months holiday. I have a travel business that I am currently working on. And I am also working in the City Center at the moment., my hobbies are live music gigs listening to music, i really like in die and Motown. i play guitar but its just a hobbies really. I also like comedy weather its stand up or TV. i work through the week, and i hate dramas.

The address to my flat is 18a Guildford Road, Brighton, BN1 3LU.

The Flat features description: Brownstone, Good Parking facilities available, No parking cost, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms. I occupied one bedroom while the other two bedrooms are available for rent and move in.

Home amenities description: Alarm system, Internet wireless and cable, Washer Dryer, Dishwasher, Microwave, Kitchen access, Large Storage for your luggage.

Room amenities description: Furnished, Air conditioning, Private entrance, Private bath, Desk and chair. TV, Cable jack. Facilities Bed linen & towels , Heating, Washing machine/Dryer & iron. Kitchen pots & pans, Crockery, Cutlery, Microwave, Oven, 2 hobs, Refrigerator, Kettle, Sat TV, Wardrobe, Drawer, Table Chair. Private bathroom with shower.

Lease length: 2 Weeks Minimum.
Smoking: Outdoors or own room only.
Nationality: Doesn't matter.

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Now that you know this is a scammer, please stop all communication with him, and ignore and delete his emails to you. Scammers will try any trick which they think might work - including the use of authority, or making legal threats; or, alternatively, using emotion and appeals of the heart.

Thanks for the heads up. Things hadn't even got to the stage where he was asking for money before my spider sense started tingling. I googled his name and email and got brought here. I sent him a very colourful email and told him not to message me again. He must think people were born yesterday.

What you are to do now is to look for a nearest western union outlet and make the payment of the security deposit and a month rent of £750.

Hello

I got the exact same email this morning, except with a Bath address details.

His ad was on gumtree and he emailed me from the same email address as stated here. I did reply with a long email and asked further questions (what an idiot ), and only then did I realise it's actually too good to be true! I googled him and came here.

Thanks for warning me! I emailed him back saying I'm sorry he is a scammer and hope no one falls for it!
