The user Karine Lebrown posted this scam comment in reply to a post requesting a bib transfer, on the Bath Half Marathon Strava group:

Hello, if you’re still interested, my sister wants to transfer her ticket since we won’t be traveling for the race anymore! here’s her WhatsApp so you can text her and she’ll transfer to you ! +33 630 979 918 Thanks

This attempted scam is one of many that regularly appear on the running social media site Strava. It is looking for people who would like to take part in an event, to make contact with a view to paying for the race entry (or 'bib') to be transferred to them. The scammer gets payment, then shuts down all contact with the victim.
