* Note the misspelling of WhatsApp and the unusual phone number formatting to try to throw off the Strava scam detection.
This attempted scam is one of many that regularly appear on the running social media site Strava. It is looking for people who would like to take part in an event, to make contact with a view to paying for the race entry (or 'bib') to be transferred to them. The scammer gets payment, then shuts down all contact with the victim.
