The following scam message was posted in the Edinburgh Marathon Strava group:
Hi I’m looking to transfer my bib registration due to an injury, I'm selling my marathon bib! If you're interested Please message me on WhatsApp,+1(639)477-5744 thanks

This attempted scam is one of many that regularly appear on the running social media site Strava. It is looking for people who would like to take part in an event, to make contact with a view to paying for the race entry (or 'bib') to be transferred to them. The scammer gets payment, then shuts down all contact with the victim.
