The following scam message was posted as a post, and also as a comment on several other posts in the Edinburgh Marathon Strava group:

Hello everyone, If anyone missed out on a spot in the marathon entry. I cannot make it and would like to transfer my you’re interested message me on telegram: @vikkyrose2

This attempted scam is one of many that regularly appear on the running social media site Strava. It is looking for people who would like to take part in an event, to make contact with a view to paying for the race entry (or 'bib') to be transferred to them. The scammer gets payment, then shuts down all contact with the victim.
