"LOOKING FOR A RELIABLE HOUSE CLEANER. Looking for a reliable and experienced house cleaner for my new home. Duties include general cleaning if you’re interested reach out to [email protected] thanks you"

​Details & Story:
The scammer contacted my teenage daughter after she replied to his Nextdoor ad. She was excited, thinking she found a great job.

​Red Flags & Scam Details:
​• Unusually High Pay: Offered an unrealistically high hourly rate / pay to bait young job seekers.
​
•Name Discrepancy: The name on the Nextdoor profile does NOT match the name in the email address.

​• Fake Profile Photo: Uses a classic stolen Facebook profile picture of a "widowed doctor".

​• The Story: Claims to be currently out of the country and moving back soon with his family.

​•The Scam: Requested our home address to "mail the house key" and instructed her to clean the house and buy groceries before their arrival (setting up a classic fake check / advance fee scam to send extra money for groceries).

​Fortunately, I stopped her before she gave out our home address.
