HI, unfortunately i was not switched on when dealing with this just 3 days ago.
this person goes by the name of 'Rodney Attwood', using email of '[email protected]',
also story of Marine Engineer... blah blah ($&*!@#^ what an asshole), using fake Paypal and Western Union means.

regreattably, i have paid total of $1500 for shipping + $2500 for Tax and Insurance. It was not until further fake paypal email turned out asking for more payment, that i realised this is not right. sigh..

can you please advise if there is anything i could do to chase down this scammer or track back the payment via Western Union?
i will contact Western Union's customer support tomorrow to see what they say too.

thank you.

p.s. this is the fake detail i was given, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!

I'm sorry to hear that you've been scammed. I suggest you phone 1-800-448-1492 now rather than wait until tomorrow. In the unlikely event the money hasn't been picked up, you can stop it.
If not, you won't find Western Union helpful, I'm afraid. They won't tell you where the money was picked up (certainly beyond the reach of your local police such as West Africa).

Hi there - this same Rodney Attwood tried to scam me this past week as well through the NZ website trademe.co.nz. He gave EXACTLY the same story as you explained - almost word for word. I thought it was weird that the Paypal messages had weird spelling errors.. Not to mention how weird it is that Paypal (a money transfer service) would ask you to go pay money to a different money transfer service...! Thank you for sharing this information with me, because I nearly fell into his trap!!
