unnecessary comparison.

This individual has a profile on Mingle2 as Jaahny71 and is using snowbergerjohn on yahoo messenger. This time he is claiming to be from LaGrange GA and has a son named Carl. He is working in Ontario Canada but will return to the states to celebrate his birthday July 5th.
I don't know "who" he is but I actually had a video chat with this guy on June 7, 2013 and I was talking to the guy in the photos. But who did I talk to?

You were talking to the Scammer and not the person in the photos. The photos are stolen and scammers will use fake video to make them look real.

You should stop all communication with him. He will more than likely write to you again with a new profile and email address.

He was reported to eharmony 4 years ago because he tried to scam money out of my daughter. I have other pictures of him that he sent to her and they are the same man as in the photos above in other posts. He skyped my daughter and he is the same man in the photos. Hope the FBI catches this SCUM. He is also on Badoo social site but I have alerted them to him. http://badoo.com/01123567143/

I wish it were that simple. The parameters associated with those profiles (e.g., widower, child, high income, working overseas, highly romantic) is typical of an African scammer, and the writing itself also contains clear signs of an African author.

Even 4 years ago, some scammers were learning that the webcam issue was a major one, and inability to appear on webcam affected their ability to get money from victims. Some of the more experienced and/or tech-savvy scammers learned to search for photos of women or men who also appeared on video online (for example, men who had posted videos on youtube, aspiring actors who posted samples online, or soldiers with recorded interviews.) Or, alternately, they looked for video of someone who looked very similar to the photos they used. The scammers learned to save that video, and using readily available software, edit it to make it look like webcam streaming live. In some cases, they even used the software to pick certain portions of the video so they could simply press a button to play that part immediately. (For example, when playing a woman, they will often use photos and videos from an internet porn actress. They can then make it appear as if "she" is lifting up her shirt or taking some other kind of action on request.)

So the fact that your daughter saw "him" on Skype doesn't necessarily mean that the person in the photos is actually the man who scammed her. We know for certain that African scammers are using those photos--it is extremely likely that those same scammers have enough video to fake a Skype session as well.
