Am talking with one whom I suspect is scammer at the moment. He says he's living in Edinburgh, Scotland and is a Veterinarian originally from Austin, Texas and then moved to Rome, Italy. Hasn't asked for money yet...but when I tracked his IP address it registered as aol in the U.S. but triggered back at some to Malaysia. He also uses Yahoo. I found him on Facebook, but interestingly, no mention of where he trained in Vet school, but lists his current 'clinic', which sports a 4470 number in the UK. I Googled that prefix and found a wealth of knowledge about the routing systems. The website he lists also is suspect...he's called a few times, but I'm not falling for this. If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is! I have his 'name' but didn't want to post it here. Has anyone come across this 'persona'? Thanks!

What you are describing is textbook scam, and I have absolutely no doubt you are dealing with a scammer. Malaysia is a known hot spot for Nigerian romance scammers.

Scammers mix and match their stories and change names on a regular basis, so it is very likely nobody is going to have an exact match.

The best thing you can do is post the name and email address he is using, as well as his first couple of emails, as those will very likely be a script he uses in the future.

Not certain where to post this information, but he is going by the name of Travis Bennett. His story is that his father died 6 years ago, mother 4 years ago and had a sister that died of cancer. He was married for 15 years, divorced and moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to set up a business partnership called Pet Care Vetinerary Hospital.
