I was so incredibly happy to see this post! This scammer found me on Facebook and was trying to strike up a romance with me. Here was his response to me when I exposed him as a scammer:

Furthermore, I ask you, if someone is as successful and educated as he claims to be, would they write THAT BADLY?? My guess is no.

Here was my response to him exposing more of his lies:

By the way, how can you have a beach house in Alexandria when it's nowhere near an ocean or bay?? The only body of water near Alexandria is a river! Also, Cane Garden Bay, where you claim to live, is in the BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS, not the USVI. And...the kicker...your company doesn't even exist! Too many holes in your stories - they don't add up!

Just one thing, though...

As tempting as it is to confront a scammer with his listing on an anti-scam site, or to point out his mistakes when he denies scamming, we strongly recommend against both. Neither will stop the scammer from continuing to scam--he will simply change his details a bit, and revise his scripts to eliminate the mistakes you pointed out, making him seem more plausible for the next victim. In the end, it will help him more than hurt him. Ultimately, even if he "confesses," he will just trade one set of lies for another.

OK, here is the phone number he posted in his FB message to me: 571-308-6589. I Googled it and it is indeed a VA number.

The scammer has taken much of the description on the facebook page from publications about Addax Petroleum.

This man has been chatting to someone I know for the past few months. How can I prove to her that this man is not who he says he is? He has now asked for money. I am looking for other women who have been contacted by him before this can go any further.

This is a bog-standard African romance scammer. Many, like Musicheals, would have dropped him before he even got to the money stage. Unfortunately, if your friend is who I believe she is, she is currently in serious denial, and in her current state is not likely to accept the statements of other women, even if they do come forward. But it certainly doesn't hurt to ask anyway.

The DHU profile Grunt mentioned: http://www.datehookup.com/User-268612334.htm He makes a key mistake on that profile that shows he is not American.

It is very easy to show that his so-called "company" does not exist, and that he is using copied photos and descriptive information (mostly taken from Addax Petroleum.)

its ok after doing my own research i know hes a scammer and no i'm not giving him any money as 1. i'm not that stupid and 2. i dont have it, although he is coming here next week to see me i will play it out and see what his next step is so i can then warn others of what an ass he is, i do have a lot of personal information about him so anything i can do to help i am more than willing to.

I have some more checks to do today so once i know the outcome of them I will post all the information i have gathered

Hello mmm72 and welcome to Scamwarners.

I am happy that you understand you are communicating with a Scammer. The person you are in contact with is not the person in the pictures posted or any that he may be sending you.

His next step is not to come visit you. He is working up to the scam where he will start asking for money. He will never come see you. The only thing he will do now is tell you lies why he can not make the trip. He will say things like he was robbed, in the hospital, has not received his pay etc etc and want to borrow money. He will tell you that he will repay you when he gets there. Once again his is lying. Anything he says or write is a lie. He will never repay you. Scammers are criminal with no emotions. Just greed and lies.

If you confront him he will continue to lie and try to steal your money. It is just best just to ignore him.

Once again he is a scammer most likely a young black male. For a fact he is in West Africa. Lagos Nigeria to be exact.
