Wish I had seen this posting before. I fell for the same fraudster who now refuses to pay back the 1185 GBP he took as a ``deposit" in order for me to see the apartment. Now he claims, despite my producing evidence of bank transfer to his account, that he never got the money and refuses to send me a refund. I complained to Met police and also their fraud alert section about this criminal.

Welcome to Scamwarners tanveer.1,
I am sorry that you lost money to this criminal. Unfortunately there is no real hope of getting your money back because he probably has already transferred the money to another location outside of the UK.

If you have any other questions about this scam please ask. You also have a pm.

It turns out after I posted my previous reply, I noticed that the money I wired came back to my account and the claim made by Mr. Trevor on behalf of Comfyrentals that they never got the money since his account was being investigated may actually be true. So, I myself don't have a case against them.

You probably got lucky that the account was reported for fraud/money laundering and the bank froze it before your payment was credited to the account.

Had he received the money, you still wouldn't have got a refund from him. He would either of lied to you to try and get more money or just stopped responding to you.
