I had a similar scam. I met a man on chemistry.com who said he was a doctor in the military. Before we had a chance to meet, he had to leave for an assignment in Afghanistan. He was very charming and we communicated on a daily basis. After about a month of communicating, he sent me a message that he wanted to send some items to the states before he came back and wondered if he could send them to me. I agreed. I then received the three emails below from [email protected]. After receiving the message requesting money, I messaged my "friend". He said it was okay, to go ahead and pay it; he had included more than that in the package to cover it. This seemed fishy. After doing some research, I found the following facts, and did not send the money. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!
- I called BellAir Corp office, and they told me that they have received calls before regarding shipments from bellair.net and it's a scam
- I confirmed this with bellair.net reported as a domain used for scams when searching online
- BellAir UK (bellair.uk.com) is a property developer not a shipping company
- Holme's Plant, LTD in NC is a Hobby, Toy, Game shop.
- one of the pictures he sent me had information about his military company. I searched for it online and found him in pictures with his military group with a different name! He was using someone else's pictures and last name!

Items will be in transit in less than 24 hours. If there is any tax upon arrival, you will be contacted for clarification and processing.
You are to sign the attached form and return to my email, immediately, for official record. You will also be required to provide time and days available to receive package at your address. Please always provide your shipment registration number for faster response to your mail.

Please note that this is a special military delivery and the process is done this way; Bell Air Courier UK, handles, customer correspondence, package registration, shipping and clearance at Heathrow Airport, while Van Line Military Service (AFG-IRQ) handles special military items and relocation from Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait to the address in the United States of America. The Defense Contract Management Command International Customs Division (DCMC-IC) certifies the declared item as military import. While some are eligible for duty-free treatment other items like gold and registered cash allowance are taxable. In order for duty-free certification to be issued by the DCMC-IC, the invoice and purchase order must reference the military staff number.Email #3:
