Met someone on dating website. He states he is a staff sgt in the army. Stationed in Damacus, Syria. He mentioned he needed some supplies, soap, deoderant, munchies, etc.
So I mentioned i could send a care pkg. He gave me a number to text. Supposedly a military person. So I sent a text about shipping a pkg. They asked for his name, rank, service number, and station. Sent the information, in return this person writes back, ok and send pkg fedex, usps, etc, but express. This is the address and name. Jonathon Abotsi 18221 150th avenue #2613 springfields garden, ny 11413. Can anyone tell me if this is legit? No money involved, but they are asking for receipts, I asked why, they just say reference. This does not sound legitl
And i came to this website when i put a name of david hatters in search engine, same pics on the dating website as on yours.. the dating website is miumeet.
Also the number i was given to text about sending a pkg is 805-203-3315.
Any input would be great. And the texting they send, when I read it out loud, it sounds foreign, if you understand. Words are missing like someone from a foreign country is texting me.
Thankyou for reading, and will appreciate any help.

It is 100% a scam. The English writing skills are bad because the scammer has never been educated in the US. He is most likely in W. Africa, Malaysia or India.

Servicemen and women serving overseas will often have an APO or FPO mailing address.

Our military have access to all their needs including their money to purchase their own toiletries. Real soldiers would not ask someone they do not know to send them a "care package". If he hasn't asked for money yet, he will. Next it will be for a phone so you can talk. Then it will be to pay for his leave. 100% scam. Stop all contact with him.

There are no US servicemen in Damascus or anywhere in Syria.
